On the contrary, it increases the risk of damage to the gums and tooth enamel. After brushing, simply rinse your mouth to better evacuate the plate and leftover food that broke off during brushing.

The right time to brush your teeth

After eating sweets or drinking sugary drinks, it is not necessary to wash one’s teeth immediately, since bacteria produce acid that dissolves the enamel after two minutes. When brushing teeth directly after eating, the tooting is likely to erode further.

Foods that prevent cavities

According to a Japanese study, the shiitake mushroom would prevent cariogenic bacteria from producing so-called gleans, which microbes use to better cling to tooth enamel. In addition, according to an American study from Boston University, consuming cheese regularly would effectively prevent the development of cavities. Dairy products enhance salivary production, so food remains are evacuated more quickly. Because of this, it is ideal to consume a piece of cheese with each meal.

Cocoa is also said to reduce the appearance of caries. It inhibits an enzyme that bacteria need to digest sugar. If a milk chocolate has been prepared with too much sugar, the cariogenic effect of the sugar is always present.
